Helpful Hints for Clean-Up and in-between
Helpful Hints for
Clean-Up
Construction
-Think the character have skeleton and muscle. not just line
-Read through the model sheet. and look over the rule(formulas公式) of the character. (Ex: proportion, something he would do, something he wouldn't do, proportion)
-drawing through. It can let you more clear the structure behind the drawing
Simplify
-Avoid parallel and twining(zombie)
-Avoid tangents
-create a strong silhouette
-Avoid ambiguity which is mean don't draw the thing like the thing it wouldn't able to be. Apple is Apple doesn't draw like the banana.
-Avoid flap drawing. like a wooden board.
-Avoid lazy line. the lazy line is the like can't feel the structure. Artist draw this line don't think too much about the purpose. just drawing with no thinking. beware of feeling nothing different between lazy and the line which has though.
When you draw an apple. ask yourself. what the skin will look like. have the leaf? is the apple which has been falling down on the ground? this is the step make yourself clear what you are drawing, and feel the object you are drawing now.
-Avoid the sawtooth effect and monotonous line.
-where is the fouse? where is the most important part of the drawing? where is the character looking at? Don't lose after you do the cleanup, in the other word, don't lose the overall feeling of the drawing after clean up.
-Know where to put your money at. time is the limit. spent most of the time on the important scene and the slow action scene(because the audience will watch more longer). and can spend less time on the fast scene.
-Perspective, If feel super 2D and confuse. drawing box and grid to support build the dimension.
In-between
-flip all the time. check the continuity
-watch the arcs
-check the layout. where the character stands. when he moving, dose BG infuses he?
and work with the latest layou
-Drawing in volumes
-Draw on model. don't re-invent the character. draw on proportion and correct construction.
-notice some part would have follow through or secondary action
-Facial features always have more attention than the hair or clothes
