The workflow in Pixar transforms form a more Cell animation approach in the beginning to live-action now.
Briefly production process in Pixar:
- storyboard
- camera department/ layout department
- aniamtion
- lighting test(concept)>lighting
What is in the preproduction process? (ex: Ratatouille)
- doing a research trip, take photo around the ref environment
- see how the light and shadow bouncing around the building in the real-life
- how the camera will look like form the lower angel of perspective
- Observe the color form a good photograph.
Her educational background does not form the filming major.
She self-learn through watching films learn as a filmmaker. when she does study, she usually watches movies form sound off and sees how many stories translate through to visual.
painting is a way for me to continue the color education form the school color class.

the exercise helps me to practice to organize the chaos of image, simplify detail.
As a lighting artist, we enhance the reality through the tool has been created, not just rely on what a computer just gives us.
